ITINERARY

DAY 01 – ARRIVAL IN LISBON

Meet and greet at the airport. Transfer to the Hotel. Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel.

DAY 02 – LISBON / SINTRA / CASCAIS / ESTORIL

Breakfast at hotel Visit of Lisbon: Down town Lisbon, Alfama quarter with its narrow and tortuous streets going up and down, Belem quarter: the monumental section of Lisbon including a visit to the Jeronimos Monastery. Continue to Sintra, well known by its charming narrow roads enveloped in lush greenery. Noble houses and palaces with walled gardens and stately courtyards are scattered throughout the forested hills, reveling in the soft, cool micro-climate that the mountain position brings upon the town and the surrounding area. Lunch at a local Restaurant. Visit of the Town Palace in Sintra. Return to Lisbon passing by Cascais and Estoril. Dinner and Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 03 – LISBON / OBIDOS / ALCOBAÇA / NAZARE / BATALHA / PORTO

Breakfast at hotel. Departure to Obidos a charming Medieval village surrounded by its walls. Walking visit through the medieval streets. Drive to Alcobaça , visit to the Monastery of the Cistercian Order with the Tombs of Pedro and Ines de Castro.

Continue to Nazare , famous for its fishermen costumes and colorful boats.
Lunch at a local Restaurant.
Continue to Batalha ,visit of the Church and cloisters of the Batalha Monastery – masterpiece of the Portuguese Gothic and Manueline art.
Drive towards Porto.
Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel.

DAY 04 – PORTO / GUIMARAES / BRAGA / PORTO
Breakfast at hotel
Morning visit of Porto ,Portugal’s second largest city and capital of the North. It has a reputation for being hard-working, somber and austere and yet when the sun shines it comes alive with vitality and color. On this day we will visit the St. Francisco Church, the Stock Exchange Palace and a wine cellar for a wine tasting.
Continue to Guimaraes, the cradle of Portugal. Now is a prosperous commercial city with cotton and linen spinning and weaving mills, cutlery and kitchenware.
Lunch at a local Restaurant, and visit of the Ducal Palace.
Continue to Braga a town which was marked by its long clerical history. Visit to the old Cathedral and to the Bom Jesus Sanctuary, well known by its original stair .
Return to Porto.
Dinner and Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 05 – PORTO / COIMBRA / FATIMA
Breakfast at hotel
Departure to Coimbra, the students’ city. This city stands on a hillside at the foot of which flows the Mondego. Many poets, inspired by the romantic setting have immortalized the charm of the city. Visit to the old University (library subject to confirmation).
Lunch at a local Restaurant.
Continue to Fatima one the most famous pilgrimage center for Catholic people.
Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel.

 

DAY 06 – FATIMA / TOMAR / CASTELO DE VIDE / MARVÃO / ESTREMOZ OR EVORA
Breakfast at hotel
Departure to Tomar, visit of the Convent, the seat of the Knights’ Templar in Portugal.
Drive to Castelo de Vide, which owes its attraction to old whitewashed houses stepped high up the hillside along winding alleys brilliant with flowers.
We will visit the Jewish quarter and its Synagogue.
Lunch at a local Restaurant.
Continue to Marvao a Medieval village inside its walls from where a magnificent view can be admired.
Continue to Estremoz ,famous by its original ceramic handicrafts.
Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel.

DAY 07 – ESTREMOZ OR EVORA / LISBON
Breakfast at hotel
The morning will be reserved for an Half Day Evora Tour. It is considered the city museum.
Evora a walled town since Roman times, is now most attractive Moorish in character with alleys cut by arches, brilliant white houses, flower decked terraces, openwork balconies and tiles patios. Visit the cathedral, Roman Temple, St. Francis church and the Bones chapel.
Lunch at a local Restaurant.
In the afternoon drive towards Lisbon.
Dinner and Overnight at Hotel in Lisbon.

DAY 08 – DEPARTURE TRANSFER
Breakfast at hotel
Assisted departure transfer to Lisbon airport.
